Amen to that! Remember, they've known, loved and protected you the longest....you'll be an older man with a family and they'll still be around watching your backside - don't alienate them, they really are on your side, even if you disagree over a few issues. Some people can only wish they had both parents worrying and caring about them.

i asked her to open it and read it, and evidently there is some evidence of apostacy that they want to review with me this saturday (4-21-06) at 7:30 pm.. the funny thing is that i have not been to a meeting since 1993, the last time i was at a circuit assembly or district convention was 1995!
i know that i have been spotted going to my church (3 blocks from the king-dumb hell).
Well, you can always use the excuse someone here successfully used - "I was never baptised, I will not be attending the meeting". (at least it will get them to start questioning any records they may have)

my husband and his mother invited me to their memorial and i asked my hubby that he should come with me to easter sunday mass.
he told me that he couldn't go b/c he took an oath.. come easter sunday, my husband did not, i repeat, did not, come with me and my family to mass.their functions, i will not go!!

If he talks about you attending another meeting, maybe retort "the boring memorial was enough to last me a lifetime. I need something more spiritual, something....oh, I don't know, something that God would actually approve of".
Bottom line: His 'religon' is lightweight, a counterfeit, silly, yet abusive.... It's to be 'dismissed' as not worth your time to think about and move on. Don't give it any power.... deflate it like a pierced ballon...then ignore it.

Double Edge - a humane way to get rid of the fish is to put them in the freezer in a tub of water. They will fall asleep with the cold and then die. It's the most humane way I know of for fish.

Heinous child molester - no question, they're history. If I felt threatened for my life or if there was a terrorist - absolutely no problem. KA-POW !

well i just got home and i have a message on my machine saying that there will be a meeting tomorrow at the kingdom hall at 8:30pm for my appeal.
however, they said on the recording that i will be responsible for getting my own ride there.
there in lies the problem as i don't have a car right now.
take this with a grain of salt, as I've never been a dub before.... but this is from my Corporate background...
suggestion:
Call Brooklyn..(service desk?) tell them your situation, not any of the detail of the dfing, but just that there is no transportation available, as the Elders stated that they won't take you. Ask what your options are, or if you can speak to the legal department. Even call a GB members office directly and speak to an assistant. All of these "calls" might provide you with ammunition when you call the Elders. sample: (((ring, ring)))) Hi, Elder Bentnose.... I've just don't have any way to get to my appeal tonight...I even called Brooklyn and spoke to so and so....and told them that you guys said that you wouldn't give me a ride....yada, yada, yada.
That might be enough of a "threat" to 1) postpone the execution appeal or 2) get someone to give you a ride. my 2 cents.
